“I had several outings with the new P4, unfortunately in bad conditions with lots of wind. Today was far better, almost without wind and good temperature. River low, clear and fast. A few small trouts did cooperate with my efforts.
I love the rod very much. First tried with SA Amplitude Trout then Rio Technical Trout, and I have strong preference for the Rio TT in these circumstances (short -5 to 10 m - casts, fast stream, small water pockets). The SA Trout may be better for large, calm river and longer casts.
Anyway congratulations for the smooth and very accurate action, it is an absolute pleasure to cast it.”

"The P4 is the best 4 weight I've ever cast. I had the A….th 4 weight for about a month and sold it immediately. The P4 is everything I hoped that rod would be. I cast it with my fave line, the Rio Technical Trout.
The T6 is really really good too. I cast that one with the MED since that is what everyone seems to like on that rod. I have a feeling the Wulff TT would work better, and will try the Rio Technical Trout too for sure. I need to buy another one of those however, because I sold it recently to a buddy in a package deal with my 6 weight A….th! I have a suspicion, for me, the Rio Technical trout, will put the T6 over the top. I like the longer belly on that line, but for some reason can't quite jive with the MED or Trout by Scientific Anglers.
Thanks again, I am really happy with the rods!”

"I have been fishing my 9’ P-4 for a while now. Long enough that although I’m not a big review guy I had to do this one. Last time out I was standing in the river just laughing at what this rod will do. I am not a well seasoned fly fisherman. I can put a dry fly just about anywhere I want to with this rod. It is like having a laser pointer in your hand. I was consistently getting my fly tucked up under tree branches where I thought fish would be hanging out. I was right. Absolutely amazing fly rod."

“This past weekend headed up to the Tennessee's Hiwassee River. This is a large river, much like a Western river with sections over 300 yards wide.
I started out fishing a H…. Z….. 9' 5" and although I caught a lot of fish on a double dry set up, I was disappointed. Although I really enjoy the H…. and I think it is a well-designed rod, maybe one of the 5 weight graphite rods ever produced, I did not get the enjoyment I thought I would have with a double dry system. The feel was not there and it was a bit numb on shorter casts.
So the next day I break out the Stickman P4 in the 9 foot version. My goodness it felt good. A perfect to really good dry, double dry, or dry dropper rod. Even though I did not catch near as many fish the day I fished with the Stickman, my enjoyment level went out of the park. Feel was great, and even had some lower end power, although I would not use this rod on a windy day.
I think this rod would be a great medium stream dry or dry dropper rod. A really good spring creek rod. It would also be a great dry fly rod. Especially when the wind is not howling. I would add that it is light and accurate. Akos has another winner.”
"The P4 is as advertised and exactly what I was looking for in the 4-weight. Nice medium-fast action. Easy to cast at fishing distances with good feedback. The rod is pretty versatile for a 4-weight, but especially nice for dry fly fishing on larger rivers. I like the new cocobolo spacer. Very nice on the Amber."
